UNO Federal Credit Union (UNOFCU) was proud to sponsor a $500 monetary award in support of the Edgar E. Burks Award for outstanding leadership, presented during the 41st Annual Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony at the University of New Orleans (UNO).
This year’s recipient, Itumeleng Mokuena, was honored on Friday, May 2nd, for his exemplary leadership. Mokuena has made significant contributions to student life through his involvement in multiple student organizations, commitment, community service & outstanding accomplishments in filmmaking.
The Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony honors students who have made a lasting impact at UNO through leadership, service & dedication. The Edgar E. Burks award is the most prestigious award a student can receive at the university. It is named in memory of Edgar E. Burk, the former Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, who passed away in 1984.
