LAFAYETTE, LA — May 18, 2026 — OnPath Credit Union officially marked its entry into the Lafayette market today with a successful groundbreaking ceremony for its new, full-service branch at 1820 Camellia Blvd. The event signifies a major milestone in the credit union’s strategic expansion across Louisiana, bringing its signature relationship-driven banking to the Acadiana region.

The afternoon ceremony brought together local officials, community leaders, business partners, including representatives from One Acadiana, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, New Ground, and Lafayette Habitat for Humanity, as well as OnPath executives and board members. Equipped with traditional ceremonial shovels, attendees celebrated the start of construction on a facility designed to offer the Lafayette community a modern, comprehensive banking experience.

Once completed, the location at 1820 Camellia Boulevard branch will provide a full suite of personal and business financial services, including mortgage lending, auto loans, commercial banking, and advanced digital banking solutions.

“There are so many reasons we are excited to bring OnPath to Lafayette. It is easily one of the most dynamic cities in the state, bursting with opportunity and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Jared Freeman, President and CEO of OnPath Credit Union. “That drive is exactly what OnPath is all about, and we are honored to finally put down roots in this incredible community.”

The expansion also highlights OnPath’s commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth.

“We are incredibly proud to be here today to break ground on our new Lafayette branch,” remarked Martha Castillo, the President of OnPath’s Board of Directors. “This region is growing at a rapid pace, and OnPath is fully committed to partnering with the Lafayette community to support that momentum. We look forward to opening our doors in the very near future.”

Recognizing Lafayette’s growing, diverse business landscape, regional advocates highlighted the positive impact the credit union will have on local entrepreneurs.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be here today. The Hispanic community in Lafayette is experiencing remarkable growth, making it one of our fastest-expanding demographics in the region,” commented Raiza Pitre, Chair of the Board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana. “We are excited to welcome OnPath and look forward to seeing them support both our community and the entire Lafayette population as we grow together.”

Construction is expected to move forward immediately. In the interim, Lafayette residents can learn more about membership opportunities and upcoming services by visiting OnPath Credit Union’s official website, www.BeOnPath.org or connecting with the credit union via their digital platforms.
