In addition to his professional leadership, McFarland is active in the community and serves as Board Treasurer for Child Advocacy Services, an organization serving children and families across Southeast Louisiana.
McFarland’s return to Neighbors brings together extensive institutional knowledge, technical financial expertise, and executive leadership experience. As CFO, he will help guide the credit union’s financial strategy and long-term planning as Neighbors continues its mission of providing financial inclusion throughout Louisiana.
About Neighbors Federal Credit Union
Neighbors Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial service organization serving over 80,000 members with over $1.4 billion in assets in south Louisiana. A handful of educators started Baton Rouge Teachers in 1954 with a shoe box, a couple hundred dollars and the goal of making financial services available to school system employees in our area. Since that time, Neighbors has undergone a variety of changes, but the mission has stayed the same: Enhance members’ financial well-being and be a partner in the communities we serve.
