The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced collections leader to manage our Account Resolutions Department. Reporting to the Director of Branch Operations and Account Resolutions, you’ll lead the team responsible for resolving delinquent consumer loans, mortgage, and credit cards. The role combines protecting the credit union’s assets with treating members professionally and with empathy. It’s a strong fit for someone who knows collection and bankruptcy law well and can handle sensitive financial conversations with tact.
What You’ll Do

- Resolve delinquencies. Contact members by phone, email, text, and mail to arrange repayment. Negotiate payment plans and refer members to budgeting and financial planning resources.
- Manage workouts. Review, process, and monitor extensions, modifications, and restructures.
- Handle bankruptcy. Review incoming petitions, file proofs of claim and reaffirmation agreements, and monitor active bankruptcy accounts to minimize loss.
- Recover collateral. Oversee repossession and foreclosure actions, collateral evaluation, and disposition.
- Oversee recoveries. Monitor accounts placed with third-party collection agencies, pursue past-due and fraud-related balances, and make charge-off decisions.
- Ensure compliance. Keep staff current on FCRA, FDCPA, bankruptcy, repossession, and collection requirements, and make sure loan files are properly documented.
- Report and improve. Prepare monthly reports on delinquency, bankruptcy, repossessions, extensions, and auction sales. Evaluate collection practices and recommend process improvements.

- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Preferred
