Thanksgiving is a time to slow down, count our blessings, and share a little extra warmth with the people who make our community stronger. This year, Ascension Credit Union was honored to celebrate the season by giving back in a special way.
Our Leadership Team spent the day serving a full Thanksgiving lunch to the incredible seniors at the Ascension Council on Aging. The room was filled with the comforting sights and smells of the holiday, tender turkey, cornbread dressing, yams, corn, warm rolls, and a sweet finish of pies. Every plate carried more than a meal; it carried appreciation and care for the seniors who have helped shape our parish.
We were especially grateful for the heartfelt prayer offered by our CEO, Lloyd Cockerham. His words of thanksgiving set a meaningful tone for the afternoon, reminding us why moments like this matter. What followed was exactly what Thanksgiving should be: gratitude, laughter, conversation, and true fellowship.
To add a little extra joy to the celebration, we closed out the lunch with door prizes for attendees. Cozy blankets, soft throws, flavored popcorn, and umbrellas brought plenty of smiles and a little surprise to an already wonderful day.
We want to extend our sincere thanks to the Ascension Council on Aging for welcoming us so warmly. Serving our seniors was a blessing and a reminder of our commitment to being Community First not just during the holidays, but all year long. We’re proud to stand beside our neighbors and share in the moments that make Ascension such a special place to call home.
