Campus Federal Credit Union proudly sponsored the LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine’s Match Day for the Class of 2025, held on March 21 at the Audubon Tea Room. Graduating medical students, along with their families and friends, gathered to celebrate a pivotal moment in their careers. They learned where they would continue their medical training.

Excitement filled the room as students opened their envelopes or checked their phones to learn where they had matched for residency. The Class of 2025’s results showed that 50% of graduates will remain in Louisiana for their residency, with 80% of those choosing LSU Health residency programs, reinforcing LSU Health’s role in shaping the state’s future healthcare workforce.

Match Day marks the culmination of months of interviews and applications, where students list their preferred residency programs, and institutions select their top candidates. The computer-generated matches determine where students will continue their training in specialties ranging from three to seven years. The day also reveals critical data about Louisiana’s physician supply and healthcare access, as many doctors remain in the areas where they train.

“We’re honored to support Match Day and celebrate these future physicians who will play an essential role in Louisiana’s healthcare system,” said Janet Kratzberg, Business Development Officer of Campus Federal.

LSU Health New Orleans is the state’s leading institution in medical education, training the majority of Louisiana’s physicians.
