Puerto Rico Cooperative Immersion

Join us for a 2-day immersive experience with the credit unions of Puerto Rico. As Luminate explores how numerous cooperatives in Puerto Rico function as an agent for change, we will also discover resources and programs available to allow you to be the same catalyst for change in your own community.

Highlighted programs will feature:

• CDFI cooperatives
• Initiatives to address affordable house
• Collaborative efforts for disaster relief
• Programs that promote small business lending
• And so much more!

On-site credit union visits will begin in the mornings and last throughout the day on Wednesday & Thursday. Transportation will be provided, making the transition from one credit union to another simple.

• Wednesday: Discover how cooperatives in and nearby San Juan continue to innovate how they serve members and their communities.
• Thursday: Hop aboard to venture to a more rural area of Puerto Rico, Corozal. Here, we’ll uncover resilient cooperatives and learn how they’ve partnered with government and non-governmental organizations to serve as a cornerstone for community development.

Our immersive time in Puerto Rico will be capped with local artist performances at the local theater in Corozal on Thursday evening.

Recommended Travel Days

To fully experience the cooperatives in Puerto Rico we suggest that you fly in on Tuesday, February 18 and fly out on Friday, February 21.
