GONZALES, LA – June 11, 2025 – OnPath Credit Union marked the grand opening of its updated Gonzales branch at 915 West Highway 30 on Tuesday, June 10, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community members and local leaders.

The modernized branch offers improved services to better serve the financial needs of Ascension Parish residents. Attendees included Ascension Chamber of Commerce President Donnie Miller, Gonzales Mayor Tim Riley, and representatives from the Ascension Chamber of Commerce.

Gonzales Mayor Tim Riley acknowledged the credit union’s impact alongside the city’s broader development efforts: “We have so much economic development coming to this parish and city. This is a phenomenal time for any business to flourish. I’m a proud OnPath member, and I’m happy to welcome them to Gonzales.”

President Miller emphasized OnPath’s role in fueling that growth and deepening local roots: “Today marks more than just a branch opening—it represents growth, vision, and the spirit of competition that drives our community. OnPath provides valuable services, jobs, and a true commitment to making our community stronger.”

“We have been serving members for a long time, OnPath was formed in 1961 as ASI Credit Union and we haven’t forgotten our roots of helping the hardest working people in the communities we serve,” said Jared Freeman, CEO of OnPath Credit Union. ” Many of our members already call Gonzales and Ascension home, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to our modern new branch – and make many more friends here.”

Attendees at the event enjoyed light refreshments and participated in various activities.

OnPath Credit Union is also planning a follow up Grand Opening event, known as OnPath Fest, taking place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Gonzales branch. This free, family-friendly event promises a day of food, fun, and community spirit. The highlight of the day will be the highly anticipated giveaway of a brand new 2025 Chevy Silverado truck to one lucky attendee.

“We are absolutely thrilled to host OnPath Fest as a way to celebrate our new Gonzales branch and give back to the community,” said Candace Washington, Senior Vice President of Member Engagement. “This event is our way of saying thank you and inviting everyone to experience the OnPath difference. We can’t wait to see our members and neighbors come together for a day of celebration and the chance to win a brand new truck!”

OnPath Credit Union continues its legacy of supporting the financial health and well-being of the communities it serves. The Gonzales branch team is now fully operational and ready to assist members with all their banking needs in the updated space.
