METAIRIE, LA – The OnPath Foundation, the philanthropic arm of OnPath Credit Union, is celebrating a landmark year in 2025 marked by expanded access to education, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and community support across Louisiana.

Throughout the year, the Foundation made meaningful investments that helped individuals and families build stability and long-term financial confidence. In 2025, the OnPath Foundation awarded 28 first-time homeownership grants totaling nearly $140,000, helping families overcome one of the most significant barriers to purchasing a home and take a critical step toward generational wealth.

The Foundation also deepened its commitment to education by awarding 20 scholarships of $2,000 each to graduating high school seniors across Louisiana, supporting students as they pursue higher education, workforce training, and career opportunities.

Financial education remained a cornerstone of the Foundation’s work. More than 1,800 students participated in the Stukent financial education platform across over 60 classrooms, including implementation in every public high school in Jefferson Parish. These programs equipped students with real-world skills in budgeting, credit, saving, and long-term financial decision-making.

In 2025, the OnPath Foundation also launched the Pathmakers Spark Series, a new entrepreneurship and leadership initiative designed to inspire innovation and small business growth. The inaugural event featured keynote speaker Daymond John, entrepreneur and star of Shark Tank, and drew more than 300 attendees, bringing together business leaders, aspiring entrepreneurs, and community partners for an evening focused on access, opportunity, and economic mobility.

The Foundation strengthened its culture of philanthropy internally by launching its first Workplace and Board Giving Campaign. The campaign exceeded expectations, achieving more than 72 percent staff participation and 100 percent board participation, reinforcing a shared commitment to giving back and investing in the communities OnPath serves.

Community engagement remained front and center through the Pack the Pirogue school supply drive, which distributed much-needed supplies to one high school in each parish where OnPath Credit Union has a location, helping students start the school year prepared and supported.

“These accomplishments reflect what is possible when a credit union and its foundation align resources, partnerships, and purpose,” said Jay Huffstatler, Executive Director of the OnPath Foundation. “In 2025, we focused on creating real pathways to opportunity, whether that meant opening the door to homeownership, investing in students, supporting entrepreneurs, or showing up for our communities in tangible ways.”

As the Foundation looks ahead, it plans to build on this momentum by expanding its impact across its core pillars of education, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and community support, while continuing to partner with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and local leaders to meet evolving community needs.
