BATON ROUGE, LA — Pelican Credit Union has promoted Ben Manry to Chief Lending Officer, the organization announced.
In his new role, Manry will continue overseeing the credit union’s Consumer Lending, Mortgage, Business Lending, and Member Solutions departments while helping guide the strategic leadership and direction of the organization.
Manry has played a pivotal role in Pelican’s lending success, leading initiatives that have accelerated loan growth, enhanced member service, and strengthened portfolio performance. Through meticulous portfolio management, a commitment to efficient turnaround times, and the implementation of innovative vendor partnerships and lending programs, he has helped the credit union meet both member expectations and budgeted loan goals. Additionally, under his leadership, Member Solutions significantly improved loan loss and delinquency ratios.
Throughout his career at Pelican, Manry has served in several key leadership positions, including leader of the Accounting, Risk Management, Fraud, and Compliance functions. Prior to joining Pelican, Manry served as an examiner with the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions, providing him with a diverse background in financial oversight and regulatory compliance.
As Chief Lending Officer, Manry will continue advancing Pelican’s lending strategy while supporting the credit union’s mission to improve the lives of members through trusted financial solutions.
