Southwest Louisiana Credit Union (SWLACU) is proud to announce its merger with Cabot Employees Credit Union, bringing together two-member focused institutions with a shared commitment to community growth, financial empowerment, and cooperative values.

Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial institutions owned and operated by their members. Unlike traditional banks, credit unions reinvest their profits back into their members through lower loan rates and community-focused programs. Their mission is centered in “people helping people”, ensuring that members are always top priority.

By merging into SWLACU, previous members of Cabot Employees Credit Union will now have access to expanded services, convenience, and new technology all while keeping the same personal service our members count on.

“A partnership with Cabot Employees Credit Union means that not only will employees of Cabot now have expanded services like checking accounts, online banking, and mortgage loans, but we will be able to expand these services further into Ville Platte and surrounding communities in Evangeline Parish” says Chad Miller, President and CEO of SWLACU. “We’re excited to serve these members and live out our mission of ‘Financial Empowerment for All’ by providing affordable financial services and top of the line financial education to these communities.”
