NEW ORLEANS, La, August 2026— UNO Federal Credit Union (UNOFCU) proudly supported LSU New Orleans’ Weeks of Welcome by sponsoring two student engagement activities, helping create a welcoming and memorable start to the academic year.

As LSU New Orleans welcomed students back to campus following its transition from the University of New Orleans, UNO Federal Credit Union partnered with the university to support initiatives that foster connection, community, and student success.

Through its sponsorship, students enjoyed two interactive experiences during Weeks of Welcome: A Petting Zoo and Custom Airbrush Hat Station. Held on separate days during lunchtime, the activities gave students opportunities to connect with peers, engage with campus life, and create lasting memories as they settled into the new semester.

“UNOFCU helped us make Weeks of Welcome even more fun,” said Joy Ballard, Director of Student Involvement and Leadership at LSU New Orleans. “Their support allowed us to bring exciting experiences like the Petting Zoo and Custom Airbrush Hat Station to campus, and both events were a huge hit with our students. It was so much fun seeing students laughing, hanging out with friends, and enjoying these experiences together. We’re so grateful to UNOFCU for helping us kick off the semester with some extra Privateer fun.”

“We were honored to be part of LSU New Orleans’ Weeks of Welcome. It was a pleasure to support an initiative that brings students together. We enjoy collaborating with Student Involvement and Leadership at LSU New Orleans and holding a baby pig was a highlight for many!” said Angela Capella, Executive Vice President of UNO Federal Credit Union.

UNO Federal Credit Union remains committed to supporting the LSU New Orleans community and both Orleans and St. Bernard parishes through partnerships that strengthen the communities it serves.
